The Club Hill Neighborhood Program Area consists of several subdivisions located west of Centerville Rd., Broadway Blvd., Wynn Joyce Rd., and generally south and west of Country Club Rd. These neighborhoods are among some of the most recognizable in Garland.
The first step in engaging neighbors was a Kick Off Meeting held on November 10, 2007. Neighbors and city staff discussed the issues of the neighborhoods. It was an opportunity for the neighbors chance to express their concerns and for staff to make sure they understand them.
In the coming months, there will be a series of informational meetings to discuss the issues facing Club Hill Neighborhood Area in more depth. The City will arrange for speakers and facilitators to provide for an exchange of ideas.
What’s Happening Right Now?
A team of staff members has been formed to study the neighborhood and assemble the issue meetings. They will be involved in meeting with neighbors and also writing the neighborhood action plan.

On November 10th, the Club Hill Neighborhood Program Team met with the neighbors of the Club Hill Program Area. The team presented results from the City’s Benchmark Survey and direct observations. Neighbors who attended the meeting discussed the results to determine if these were the top issues of the neighborhood. The meeting was well attended and received positive comments from the neighbors.
Next, the team will organize an informational meeting to address the first issue topic of Neighborhood Management. The meeting will be held Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 7:00 PM at Club Hill Elementary. This meeting and future meetings will be posted to the event calendar.
