Appliance Recycling

Large Appliances

Large appliances can be left at the curb for collection, or they can be dropped off for free at the scrap metal bin at the Drop-Off Recycling Center. These can include:

  • Dryers
  • Freezers
  • Refrigerators
  • Stoves
  • Washers
  • Water heaters

For safety purposes, either remove refrigerator doors or tape or tie shut if left at the curb. Other appliances that can be set out or dropped off for collection include microwaves, garbage disposals, dishwashers, and air conditioners. Appliances should be set apart from all other bulky waste and brush.

Collection & Donation

Garland Sanitation collects appliances for scrap metal recycling. A process is completed that removes any harmful elements. If appliances are still working, consider calling places like Goodwill or the Salvation Army to inquire if they take appliance donations.
